I have been debating buying these over many other headsets. As soon as I had the money for these, I bought them. At the time, I had the Astro A40 system from earlier this year (2010) I was less than pleased with the A40 headset, considering all the hype and false claims. So I decided to find something that is "The Best". Well, compared to the A40's, these are the best. I hooked these up to my mixamp and played some MW2, Burnout Paradise, and L4D2. All I can say is wow! The directionality is truly incredible. The reason behind that is the 50mm drivers in it, as well as the Dolby Headphone technology in the MixAmp. I have played for hours upon hours, at once, and have felt zero pain, discomfort, or fatigue. The around ear design is great... especially with the meshy ear pads. I gave it 3 stars for usability because it uses the dual 3.5 mm jacks (mic and stereo) So it can not be used with consoles with out some kind of adapter or a MixAmp. Five stars for ease of use because it is pretty much plug and play. Four stars for sound stage because, it is good, but not the greatest. I can easily get better sound stage from the Sennheiser HD555 headphones (my next purchase). But don't get me wrong... this headset is well worth your money. Buy this if you are using an X-Fi sound card with CMSS-3D or a Dolby Headphone certified decoder for your console. Other wise, you are better off buying the Ax Pros (that sound horrible, and easily break(I used to own those as well)) Oh... and like the other reviews on the web have said, the mic is amazing. It is crystal clear. I will be using it for my blog talk radio in the future. Bottom line... Buy these.
