I was tired of packing my power cord for school every day and tired of forgetting it. Lenovo charges a lot for these cords, but this one is a fraction of the Lenovo price. And, it's cheap enough that it won't hurt as bad if it's lost. So far, I haven't noticed any problems with my battery and the power cord works just fine. It does take longer to charge the batter using this cord as opposed to the original, but that's not why I bought it.
