this hub works fine for me so far. there is no software to install . I am using it on a windows xp machine. The only problem I have is that i have to reach around my computer tower to plug anything into it. It has a very short cord but for the price is well worth what I paid for it. This would be excellent for a laptop.I don't think it fair to give it a bad review because of my own lazyness . I would buy another one if the need were there.
