I bought ours from Tampa-Laptops and couldn't be happier with their work. I've bought a few refurbished items in the past with mixed results, but these guys are, hands down, the most professional I've dealt with. The laptop arrived quickly, in perfect condition and with instructions for acquiring signal from our router. It was up and running in minutes.
It's become our habit to keep one of these used Dells around as a spare in case the desktop goes widgey, or to take with us on vacations, or just to do email in a more comfortable place than at a desk. I suspect we'll be using this one from Tampa-Laptops for more than that, as it's faster and has a larger capacity than any of the previous "refurbs" we've had.
Buying any refurbished item is a pig in a poke, you can never be sure what you'll get. And having now bought three or four of these, I can empathize with the negative reviewers, been there. I think the best you can do is to read the feedback on the sellers. As of this writing Tampa-Laptops has a 100% rating which, I've discovered, is richly deserved.
