2-Port USB 2.0 PCMCIA Cardbus PC Card (fully inside for Notebook)

2-Port USB 2.0 PCMCIA Cardbus PC Card (fully inside for Notebook) Review

USB ports are pretty much a necessity these days for connecting a variety of peripheral devices to your computer. I travel regularly with a laptop, so when the single USB port in my Panasonic failed, it was more than just an inconvenience. This product was a great alternative to an expensive repair. I inserted the card and it was instantly recognized by Windows XP SP3, and was soon working. The included driver CD was not required to get things running.
The card/ports worked fine with an assortment of thumb drives, wireless mice, keyboards, and a GPS puck. An additional plus is that it fits entirely inside the PCMCIA slot, and has no protruding parts, like some other adapters. This allows the access door to close without removing the card. The only limitation that you should consider is that there isn't enough power available on these 2 ports to run a more power-hungry device, like an external hard drive. Mine needed to be powered externally.
